That’s right, get ready to arrive early on weekends to avoid the summer crowds . Work crews with lots of heavy equipment will be on the scene Monday through Friday, which means access is nil. If you’re biking, e-biking, skateboarding, be careful! Don’t wear your headphones going around curves. Do bring your rod! (Credit: Jim Burns)
I know, right? Iâve been too slack in that regard.
Rumor is there may be a proclamation on SGMNM monument expansion forthcoming, perhaps in April. Might be a good excuse for me to get some âfield dataâ for our comms. Remind me of the seasons on the respective forks of the SGR?

So, the West Fork and East Fork definitely have four distinct seasons. We are just coming out of winter and are now fully in spring. Great time to fish on both forks. Summer the Monument is overrun on weekends, but is really pretty crowded with a lot of folks who forget they are in a Monument and instead just throw their garbage — and I mean tons and tons of it — when the mood strikes them. Fall is also awesome, if there is water, and this year there definitely will be. Hope you come down!
